The Institute for Human Services Since 1977, the Institute for Human Services (IHS) has worked throughout the United States and Canada, with both local public human service agencies and state and provincial governments, to protect children and strengthen families. In our goal to promote best practice, IHS offers various services including child welfare training.  Child Welfare Training Developing competent child welfare practitioners and caregivers is not possible without skilled trainers.  With over 30 years of experience in organizational development, program evaluation, and in-service training for public and private social and human service agencies, the Institute for Human Services (IHS) assists a wide range of organizational structures in preparing proficient child welfare staff.  IHS has worked throughout the United States and Canada with local public human service agencies, and state and provincial governments to protect children and strengthen families.  IHS provides classroom training using tested and standardized curricula, coaching and mentoring, transfer of learning, leadership development, training of trainers, conflict management, and culture and diversity.  IHS has extensive experience in development and publication of in-service training curricula, coaching manuals, and university level textbooks.
