Ms. Parker came to the Institute for Human Services (IHS) in 2005 with over 19 years of experience as a county child welfare supervisor in intake/investigation. As a training manager with the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP), she has further developed Supervisor Core and Supervisor Readiness training.
Ms. Parker’s earlier experience was in residential placement and independent living facilities in Ohio, California, Texas and Arkansas, providing foster care and adoption services, counseling behaviorally handicapped and mentally challenged students, and supervising staff. In addition, she was a part-time therapist in private and public mental health settings.
While employed at the county child welfare agency, Ms. Parker authored the county’s Multi-disciplinary Child Abuse Response Protocol and participated in the county's Child Abuse Response Team. She also trained child protection issues in her community, coordinated the agency’s prevention program, and developed a voluntary family intervention service and community outreach program that received an award in 2003 as the Outstanding Prevention Program in Ohio. Also in 2003, Ms. Parker received an award as the Outstanding Ohio Prevention Professional.
Ms. Parker holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. |
