Ms. Hughes came to the Institute for Human Services (IHS) in 2009, and is currently studying national alternative response activity for the Center for Child Welfare Policy, affiliate of the North American Resource Center for Child Welfare (NARCCW). In her additional role as a training coordinator for the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP), she conducts research to enhance curricula development, reviews training content outlines, and assists in training needs assessment. She has also been a contributor to the Advisor newsletter of the American Professional Society on Abuse of Children (APSAC).
Ms. Hughes’s previous experience includes providing supportive counseling to individuals with severe mental disabilities and completing diagnostic assessments and individualized case plans at a community mental health agency. She has also provided in-home care for developmentally disabled individuals.
Ms. Hughes is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at The Ohio State University.
