Beginning in 2001, Dr. Hughes has served as senior consultant to the North America Resource Center for Child Welfare’s (NARCCW), Family Trust Clinic on ethical and legal issues in child welfare cases and for clinical assessment of child victims. He also evaluates public child welfare agencies and foster care programs for children with developmental disabilities; develops curricula and trains social workers and psychologists on various child welfare issues.
Dr. Hughes holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from The Ohio State University with a specialty in Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. He maintains a private counseling practice, which specializes in adolescent issues, and treatment for children with developmental disabilities.
