Ms. Osterman became a training coordinator for the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP) in 2005. She develops curricula and content in foster care and adoption for training workshops, facilitates work teams and implements contract deliverables; and collaborates with state partners concerning foster care and adoption issues. Ms. Osterman works closely with Foster Care Alumni of America and a state level youth advisory board made up of adults who experience foster care.
Over her 30 years of experience in adoption services, Ms. Osterman has placed over 500 children in adoptive families. She has trained pre-service workshops for foster and adoptive families, managed field instruction to graduate and undergraduate social work students at local colleges and universities, and provided casework services to victims of child maltreatment.
Ms. Osterman received many awards during her previous work as Adoption Program Coordinator for Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio including Adoption Worker of the Year (1990), Social Worker of the Year (1997) and The Ohio State University Social Work Field Instructor of the Year (2001). Ms. Osterman also received the OCWTP’s Rising Star Award in 2002.
Ms. Osterman holds a Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University.
